There are lots of questions students have about blogs.  One in particular is very common.

• What is a blog?

A blog can be many things.  It all started as an online journal in the mid 90’s. It was a way to create an electronic diary. The term blog came from a guy who shared it as “the web blog” on his site. The word became so popular it eventually made it into the dictionary and was no longer considered slang. Today blogs are whole online communities where people post stories about a variety of topics and readers make comments to create a virtual conversation.
